The 17th Headies Awards will take place on April 5, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, according to a statement released by the award’s Executive Producer, Ayo Animashhun, on January 20.

“This year’s edition is packed with an extraordinary lineup of events, culminating in a week-long celebration of the industry’s growth and artistic ingenuity,” Animashhun stated.

Festivities will begin on March 29, 2025, with The Headies Stakeholders Brunch and the Nominees’ Party. New additions to this year’s celebration include The Headies Festival, which will showcase Nigerian music, entertainment, and culture.

While the nomination list, host, and venue remain undisclosed, the announcement marks a return to Nigeria after the last two editions were held abroad due to planning costs. The Headies, first launched in 2006, is regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the Nigerian music industry.
