25 million liters of petrol supply in September – Dangote Refinery

News

September 3, 2024

In September, the Nigerian market will receive 25 million liters of gasoline from the Dangote oil refinery.

This will increase to 30 million liters starting in September, according to information released on Tuesday by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and the NMDPRA met to discuss local crude supply to the refinery, according to a brief statement from the NMDPRA.

β€œAt the NMDPRA headquarters in Abuja, NNPCL reached an agreement to commence crude oil sale and supply to Dangote Refinery in local currency.

β€œThe refinery is now poised to supply an initial 25 million litres of PMS into the domestic market this September. And will subsequently increase this amount to 30 million litres daily from October 2024,” the NMDPRA said on its X.

Aliko Dangote publicly declared the start of petrol production at the 650,000-capacity oil refinery in Lagos.

Dangote stated during a live broadcast on Tuesday that Nigeria’s energy situation would change if petrol supplies increase.

Dangote added that many people believed that the $20 billion refinery could begin producing petrol, even though he was grateful to President Bola Tinubu for authorizing the sale of oil to local refineries in naira.
