Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has called on human rights activist Femi Falana and his son, musician Falz, to hold media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, responsible for circulating defamatory content online.
The controversy began when audio recordings shared by VeryDarkMan claimed that Bobrisky sought Falz’s help to persuade his father to secure a presidential pardon, allegedly costing N10 million. The recordings also included allegations that Bobrisky paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to help resolve charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
In response, Falana’s legal team issued a letter on October 14, 2024, accusing Bobrisky of making false and damaging statements about the Falanas and demanding a public retraction and apology.
Bobrisky denied the allegations, stating, “I Okuneye Idris aka Bobrisky didn’t give Falz or his dad any money for pardon. As a matter of fact, no penny was given to them.” He argued that the person who shared the audio should be held accountable for the defamatory content.
In another Instagram post, Bobrisky reiterated that he did not publish any defamatory statements, insisting, “Whoever has been defamed should hold the publisher of defamatory content.”
