A video skit featuring children in roles inspired by Mr. Macaroni’s “sugar daddy” character stirred controversy on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on October 14, 2024. In the skit, one of the children, dressed in a crop top and mini skirt, portrayed an interested young woman, while another played Mr. Macaroni’s wife, who chased her away. The video quickly gained traction and sparked backlash, particularly from adults.

One outraged user commented, “Since Gen Z started giving birth a lot of things are all for the camera. You will find them fixing weavon caps with frontal on the head of a baby. Everything is content to them. Parenting education needs to be passed down to these new generation parents.” Another user criticized the choice to involve children in the skit, saying, “There are so many roles children can play. This is not one of them. Mr Macaroni’s content isn’t tailored for the underaged, so getting underage to play this is pretty cringe, immodest, and irresponsible.”

Another concerned user added, “This shouldn’t be encouraged… Children are watching and would see flirting and intimacy as something to try out before the right time.”

In response to the backlash, Mr. Macaroni addressed the situation on October 15, 2024, via a post on X, urging parents and guardians to be mindful of the content their children participate in. He wrote, “Dear parents and guardians, I understand the urge to want to make the most out of our uniquely talented children. I, however, strongly believe that we must apply caution while doing so… We must showcase their talents in ways appropriate for their respective ages… We owe them and our society that guidance. My love always.”
