Court Grants Jude Okoye Bail in ₦1.38bn Fraud Case

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail to Jude Okoye, former manager and elder brother of music duo Peter and Paul Okoye, ahead of his trial for alleged fraud.

Okoye was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on February 26, 2025, over alleged money laundering involving ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty to the seven-count charge and was remanded in Ikoyi correctional facility.

Justice Alexander Owoeye approved his bail with conditions, including two sureties with Lagos properties worth ₦100 million each and a travel restriction without court approval. Okoye will remain in custody until the conditions are met.

His trial is scheduled to begin on April 14, 2025.
