Nigerian music star David Adeleke, known as Davido, marked his 32nd birthday with gratitude and a significant philanthropic gesture. In a post on X.com late Wednesday, the artist expressed his joy, writing, “Big 32 soon! Omo, God is good. Happy to be alive! My eyes don see shege, but steady, my fans dey shout shekpe!”

Continuing his tradition of giving back, Davido announced a ₦300m donation through the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF) to support orphanages and a charity dedicated to combating drug abuse among Nigerian youth.

In a statement shared Thursday morning, Davido reiterated the Foundation’s mission to uplift underserved communities. “In line with its unwavering commitment to supporting underserved communities across Nigeria, the David Adeleke Foundation proudly announces another impactful year of charitable giving,” the statement read.

DAF highlighted its contributions since its 2022 establishment, stating, “Over the past few years, DAF has spearheaded life-changing initiatives, donating substantial funds to hundreds of charities and orphanages across the country. These contributions have directly enhanced the lives of thousands, reaffirming our core values of compassion, equity, and sustainable community support.”

The Foundation confirmed that this year’s donation will fund orphanages and grassroots projects while also providing resources for programs to prevent drug abuse among youth. “The ripple effect of these efforts is a testament to the profound impact of collaboration and kindness,” the statement added.

Davido’s philanthropy has earned widespread praise from fans and is part of a long-standing tradition. Earlier this year, he donated ₦300m to orphanages, following a similar gesture in 2021 when he contributed ₦250m to 292 orphanages for his 29th birthday.

Fans have celebrated both his birthday and his continued efforts to support vulnerable communities.
