Nigerian music star Davido has delayed the release of his upcoming fifth album, 5ive, by a month. Initially set to drop on March 15, 2025, the album will now be released on April 18.
While Davido did not give a reason for the postponement, anticipation remains high for the project.

Announcing the album on social media, he wrote: “THE JOURNEY CONTINUES in 2025 with my new album, 5IVE!! This one is straight from the heart – my story, my truth, my growth. WE NOT WAITING THOUGH! Tonight at midnight I’m dropping a single ‘Funds’ with @odumodublvck & @officialchike. This one’s for the dreamers, the go-getters and everyone chasing what’s theirs! Thank you for riding with me. Let’s make history again!!! Album pre-order link in bio! OBO 30BG 🇳🇬.”
Ahead of the album, Davido has already released two singles—Awuke, featuring YG Marley, and Funds, featuring Chike and Odumodublvck.
2025 has been eventful for the singer, who secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammys for Best African Song Performance with his feature on Chris Brown’s Sensational. He is also up for five awards, including Artist of the Year, at the upcoming 17th Headies.

5ive is expected to feature a collaboration with Omah Lay, who described their song as a “perfect partnership,” while Adekunle Gold has also teased a possible guest appearance. The album follows Davido’s record-breaking fourth album, Timeless.
