In recent legal developments, the lawsuit against renowned rapper Jay-Z, alleging that he and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sexually assaulted a minor in 2000, has been dismissed with prejudice. On February 14, 2045, the anonymous accuser, identified as Jane Doe, voluntarily withdrew the case, ensuring it cannot be re-filed.

The allegations surfaced when Jane Doe claimed that Diddy and Jay-Z assaulted her during an after-party following the Video Music Awards in 2000 when she was just 13 years old. She recounted feeling woozy after consuming a drink at the party, which led her to a nearby bedroom where the alleged assaults occurred.

Jay-Z’s legal team made multiple attempts to dismiss the case due to the accuser’s anonymity, but a judge ruled in December that Jane Doe could proceed anonymously. In January 2025, further efforts were made to dismiss the lawsuit and impose sanctions against Doe’s attorney, citing inconsistencies in her allegations.

Following the dismissal of the rape case, Jay-Z promptly filed a lawsuit against the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, accusing him of defamation, civil extortion, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Jay-Z claims the false accusations led to significant reputational damage and a loss of $20 million in business contracts, describing the ordeal as a calculated attack on his legacy.
