Samuel Nwajagu, a 23-year-old model from Anambra State, Nigeria, has become the first African to win the prestigious Mister International title. The historic win took place during the 16th edition of the pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, which featured participants from 47 countries, including debutants Cameroon, England, Benin Republic, and Mali.

The Mister International competition, second only to Mister World in global prominence, was founded in 2006 by the late Alan Sim. The Singapore-based event has grown to attract over 80 countries and averages 38 contestants annually.

This year’s contestants participated in a series of events, including city tours, cultural attire showcases, and formal wear presentations. They also faced questions on topical issues to demonstrate their intelligence and charisma.

Nwajagu emerged victorious over finalists Nguyễn Mạnh Lân of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto of Indonesia. He was crowned by the outgoing 2023 winner, Kim Thitisan Goodburn.

Marking a significant change in its 16-year history, the 2024 edition of Mister International allowed fathers, married, and divorced men to compete.

Known for his passion for fashion, fitness, and wellness, Nwajagu’s groundbreaking achievement is a proud moment for Africa in the global pageant arena.
