In a recent interview with Naija FM, rapper Reminisce shared how his early experiences in the music industry taught him valuable lessons about fame and trust. When asked about handling fame, he said, “Fame is like a drug that clouds judgment. One of the key things I learned early on is that nobody is truly your friend.” He explained that standing firm in his decisions often led to conflicts, but he understood that he alone would face the consequences.
Reminisce revealed that, as he rose in the industry, he realized he couldn’t rely on anyone and had to be cautious about who he trusted. He noted that “people quickly turn on you if they don’t feel favored, especially when money is involved.” He also mentioned that becoming famous later in life, after already having a child, made him realize the importance of boundaries.
His advice to upcoming artists is to stay aware of their environment: “Everyone is after the same thing, so it’s a mistake to think everyone is your friend,” he warned, adding that it’s crucial for famous people to recognize that not everyone around them genuinely supports their success.
