Singer and songwriter Stanley Omah Didia, known professionally as Omah Lay, has prompted reactions from fans after his NPR Tiny Desk performance emerged on social media.

Omah Lay’s received heavy criticisms as he struggles onstage while performing. His performance reopened the discussion about a persistent problem in Nigerian music, where even the greatest musicians sometimes provide poor live performances.

The “Godly” hitmaker is not the first Nigerian musician who has had difficulty at NPR Tiny Desk. Recall Naira Marley and Zinoleesky’s disastrous performance of “O’dun” from Naira Marley’s debut album, “God’s Timing Is The Best,” at NPR.
