Veteran Nigerian actor Patrick Doyle has lauded Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for his composure in handling public criticism, likening the artist’s resilience to the philosophy of the late Obafemi Awolowo.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Doyle noted that Davido’s global reputation continues to soar despite receiving aspersions from peers. Drawing a parallel with Awolowo’s life, Doyle recalled the late statesman’s philosophy, “Eebudola,” meaning blessings derived from adversities.

“Truly, the Awolowo ‘Eebudola’ concept is working in the life of young David Adeleke, the Eebudola of the entertainment industry,” Doyle wrote.

He commended Davido’s calm demeanor, noting that the artist rarely engages in conflicts despite provocations. Doyle also praised Davido’s humility, adding, “On a few occasions when he has erred and been corrected by elders, he has humbly redirected his steps.”

Doyle highlighted Davido’s aristocratic upbringing compared to his “street-brought-up peers,” concluding that the artist embodies traits of a true “Omoluabi” while balancing the flashy demands of his career.
