After a video of content creator Peller ‘proposing’ to his girlfriend Jarvis went viral, Jarvis clarified during a livestream that they did not get engaged. She explained that the ring was a promise ring to signify her commitment and her intention to wait for Peller until he returns from his trip abroad. Jarvis emphasized, “It’s a Promise ring, not an engagement ring. An engagement ring is for marriage, and in two to three weeks we should be getting married. The time hasn’t come yet. This promise ring is a symbol of ‘my love, I’m traveling to another country, please wait for me till I return.’ I’m not running anywhere, you know.”
The clarification came after Peller shared a video of the proposal on Friday, showing Jarvis taken aback and eventually accepting it. She also posted a video on Instagram dressed as a Yoruba bride, fueling speculations that they were officially engaged. The couple had made their relationship public at the Pulse Influencer Awards in October 2020.
