Singer Spyro has disclosed that a remix of his hit single Billing, featuring Davido, was blocked from release by Davido’s manager, Asa Asika. In an interview on Echo Room, Spyro explained that the remix was shelved due to Davido’s busy schedule, which included numerous collaborations and preparations for a new album.

Spyro credited musician and blogger Tunde Ednut for facilitating the collaboration, but revealed that despite his efforts to address the issue with Davido directly, the song’s release was ultimately scrapped.

He noted that the decision stemmed from his refusal to distribute the song through The Plug, a company co-owned by Davido’s manager. Spyro described the experience as a major setback that nearly caused him to lose hope.

Released in 2022, Billing propelled Spyro into the mainstream. The anticipated remix with Davido had excited fans but was canceled, along with other Davido collaborations, including Wande Coal’s Come My Way.
