This breaks the previous record he shared with Asake for their collaboration “MMS.” Wizkid now holds the top 3 spots for the highest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria, with his song “IDK” featuring Zlatan in third place.
“Piece of My Heart,” blending RnB and mid-tempo bounce, is also the first African song to surpass 1 million streams on its first day. This achievement underscores Wizkid’s commercial success and the growing influence of streaming in Nigeria.
The single marks the beginning of his “Morayo” era, leading up to his highly anticipated sixth album, set for release on November 22, 2024. At his London release party, Wizkid previewed new songs from the album, which is a tribute to his late mother.
